Forum Venue

The Asia Urban Resilience Finance Forum, organized by USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific in partnership with ADB, CDIA and UNDP, will be held at the Pimarnman Room of Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. There will be a Welcome Dinner Reception for all participants on Tuesday, May 23 at 6:00 pm which will be held at the Montathip 1 Room.

Accommodation

For funded participants, the organizer has reserved a single room per person at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel for the duration of your stay.

The payment will be made directly to the hotel by the organizers. Participants are responsible for any additional expenses incurred apart from the basic room charge and daily breakfast. Extra days of stay shall be pre-approved by organizers and paid for by participants.

Check-in time is 15:00 (3:00 pm) and check-out is 12:00 noon. Early check-in and late check-out is subject to room availability. For those who require early check-in or late check-out, please advise organizers early in advance. The organizers will coordinate with the hotel but will not cover surcharges.

Upon checking-in the hotel will request for your credit/debit card as guarantee for other extra expenses you may incur during your stay. 

Information for self-funded participants
Self-funded participants of the Asia Urban Resilience Finance Forum may take advantage of the discounted rate of THB 4,300 for a single occupancy at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. Travel Arrangements to Bangkok

The organizers are making flight arrangements for funded participants to the Forum. Please wait to hear from your sponsors after you have registered online.

Information for self-funded participants
There are numerous flights coming from several countries to the two international airports in Bangkok: Don Mueang International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport. For nearby countries such as Cambodia, Laos, and Indonesia, there are budget airlines mostly coming to Don Mueang International Airport while flights from countries further away usually go to Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Airport Transfer

Public Taxi
From both airports, you can take a public taxi to Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. At Don Mueang International Airport, the taxi point is on the ground floor of the airport. At Suvarnabhumi Airport, taxi point is on 1st Floor. In addition to the fee shown on meter, there is additional service fee of THB 50 fee. Please note that only cash in THB is accepted.

Public Transportation
Don Mueang International Airport: Public air-conditioned buses (A1 and A2) are available on the ground floor of the airport. Leaving every 15 minutes, either will take you directly to Mo Chit BTS station, from which you can take the BTS to Rajdamri station for THB 42. Both A1 and A2 cost THB 30/ person. Please note that only cash in THB is accepted.
Suvarnabhumi Airport: Located on the basement (B) floor, Airport Link is a train that connects airport to Phayathai BTS station. It runs from 06.00 to 24.00 every day and costs THB 45/ person/ way. Once you get off the Airport Link you can take the BTS train to Rajdamri station for THB 25 or a public taxi to Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.

Visa to Thailand

Please refer to http://www.immigration.go.th/ and http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/doc/services.pdf. Participants that are required a visa to Thailand, please apply for your visa in advance at the Royal Thai Embassy in your respective country before arriving to Thailand.

You can get reimbursed for visa costs upon submission of receipt to your funding organizer. For further inquiry, please contact your funding organizer’s contact person(s).

Meals

Breakfast is included in the hotel rate and is served at Madison Restaurant on 1st floor. It is open from 6:00 am – 10:00 am.

The Forum will provide buffet lunch for all participants on May 24 and 25, with coffee/tea and snacks during meeting breaks.

For funded participants, all other meals during the meeting shall be covered by the DSA to be provided by their respective funding organization.

Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA)

All funded participants shall receive their Daily Subsistence Allowance based on organizers’ rules and policies.

Laptops and Internet Connection

Please bring your own laptop to the meeting. Wifi connection will be provided in the meeting venue. The hotel also provides wifi connection in your room and other areas of the hotel.

Currency

Thai Baht (THB) is the local currency in Thailand. You can change the currency at the exchange booths at the airport at that commercial bank’s rate or at the hotel at their rate. ATMs dispense THB notes. Most credit cards are accepted in big establishments including shopping malls and restaurants.

Climate

The average temperature for the month of May in Bangkok is 26-34 °C.

Electricity

The electricity current in Thailand is 220 volts AC 50 Hz with two or three-pin power points.
